Due to the gross inconsistencies in the management of recent SFUO Elections and the seemingly autocratic and unprofessional behaviour of current-SFUO President Seamus Wolfe, I have created the “Vote Fail” Campaign. It was created in response to a number of students becoming more disgruntled with the SFUO election process. These were students who were highly involved in the original SFUO election, either as candidates or as informed voters. These are students who have always been involved and have always voted at both the SFUO/BOA and Federated Body level. The Vote Fail Campaign is a way for all of these students who feel disconnected and disgruntled from the SFUO to show their displeasure with the system in a way that cannot be ignored or brushed off.
Some people were talking about scratching their ballot, not voting, or writing in candidates as a way to show protest. However, I have a better idea. In order to affect any type of change, there needs to be a consorted effort of solidarity among those who are unimpressed. Thus, KJ360 is spearheading the first ever “Vote Fail” Campaign!
How the campaign works is simple: instead of voting for any candidates, we will affix a common sticker to our ballot. What’s the sticker look like? This:

If you are in Social Sciences and you are not happy with the way “democracy” exists at the SFUO then I encourage you to get one of the stickers and place it on your ballot. Wanna help with this campaign? Give me a shout (ken@kj360.ca) and we’ll figure something out! All individuals have a right to spoil their ballots, it is akin to having a noted abstention. However, when you abstain from voting in an election such as these, there is no method of documenting it. By joining “Vote Fail” you are able to be a documented dissenting vote!
